Microsoft has awarded Spanish Point Technologies the Azure Platform Solution of the Year award, at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2015, which is currently being held this week in Orlando. The Azure Platform Solution of the Year Award honours a Microsoft Partner that is customer obsessed and is driving business innovation through cloud or hybrid applications that leverage platform services on Microsoft Azure.
Spanish Point received this award for the solution it created and designed for the Canadian Musical Rights Reproduction Agency (CMRRA). CMRRA is a music licensing agency which represents the vast majority of music publishers working in Canada. On their behalf, CMRRA issues licences for the reproduction of musical works to individuals or organisations that make use of their songs by reproducing those songs on various media or for different purposes.
The solution which Spanish Point built is an automated, cloud-based system to track copyrighted works and deliver royalty payments using the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform. This system manages the growing number of databases to securely develop, manage and store critical information. This system calculates royalties based on the various tariffs and licensing agreements in place between the CMRRA and its licensees and allocates those royalties based on the usage data such as radio plays and online streams and downloads. The system automates back-end processes, freeing staff to focus on client service business development.
The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference is an annual, global convergence of Microsoft’s top partners who come together to network, drive business growth and identify new profitability opportunities. This event takes place each year to recognise and credit partners who are the key contributors that have demonstrated partner excellence in offering the highest quality services resulting in huge benefits to customers utilising Microsoft technologies
Spanish Point Technologies is a Certified Gold Microsoft Partner, with four gold competencies and has previously won Irish Cloud Excellence Partner of the Year in 2014 and Microsoft Partner of the Year in 2013 and 2012.
